50 Cent is suing his ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy Narvaez for defamation after she accused him of rape and physical abuse.
Filed Monday in a Harris County, Texas, court, the lawsuit comes over a month after Narvaez made the allegations, following the rapper’s comments on her being named in a civil lawsuit by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr. against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
In a March Instagram post, Joy addressed 50 Cent by his birth name, Curtis James Jackson, and criticized the “Candy Shop” emcee for “wreaking real havoc, frenzy, and chaos onto people’s lives” after he seemingly made light of Jones’ allegation about Joy being among the women “who were paid a monthly fee to work” as Diddy’s “sex workers.” She also blasted her ex-boyfriend for his alleged sexual abuse of her, as well as his lack of involvement in their son’s life (they share a son, Sire).
50 Cent is hitting back at ex-girlfriend Daphne Joy after she accused him of sexual assault amid being named in a civil lawsuit against Diddy.
“Let’s put the real focus on your true evil actions of raping me and physically abusing me,” Joy wrote at the time. “You have permanently damaged the last hope I had for you as a father to preserve our family with these last and final false claims made against me.”
Now, Jackson is hitting back, claiming Narvaez “retaliated” against him for seeking sole custody of their child by “immediately taking to the Internet and publishing multiple defamatory statements on her public Instagram account.”
In an emailed statement to America today on Wednesday, Jackson’s lawyer, Reena Jain, said Narvaez has been given “ample opportunity to retract a false and malicious retaliatory accusation.”
“Ms. Narvaez has shamefully chosen to interfere with her 11-year-old son’s relationship with his loving father by falsely calling him a ‘rapist,'” said Jain. “The motivation behind this appears to be Ms. Narvaez’s unfortunate entanglement and misguided loyalty to Mr. Combs, who we believe to be underwriting this attack and whom Mr. Jackson has been warning Ms. Narvaez and others about for many years.”
The lawsuit notes that Jackson “has been subjected to extensive public ridicule, hatred, and contempt, with members of the public calling for Jackson to be ‘cancel(ed)‘ or ‘throw(n)… in the trash,’ and going so far as to praise prior attempts on his life.”
Jackson is seeking monetary damages and the removal of Narvaez’s post.
Narvaez, along with City Girls rapper Yung Miami, was named in an amended civil lawsuit by Jones, who is suing Combs for sexual assault and harassment. Jones claimed in the filing that Narvaez and Yung Miami were among the women “who were paid a monthly fee to work as Mr. Combs’ sex workers.”
Narvaez responded to the allegation in an Instagram post in March, threatening possible legal action against Jones.
“I am deeply hurt by the lies in Rodney Jones’ lawsuit,” Narvaez wrote. “The claim that I am a sex worker is 100% false and character assassination. I am retaining an attorney to explore all legal remedies against both Rodney and his attorney.”
50 Cent’s Lawsuit Against Daphne Joy for Sexual Assault and Abuse
The official complaint read like it was written by a high school student who was drunk or high. I had the sense that Mr. Jackson was not going to get the justice he felt he deserved. The defendants did not commit the acts alleged. Joy has had sexual contact with Mr. Jackson, she did so because the contact was mutually desired and they shared mutual interest in each other. The act occurred without defense to the contact. Joy did not have a sexual or romantic relationship with 50 Cent, knowingly, intentionally, negligently or otherwise. While in a relationship with 50 Cent, nor at any time before, during, or after. Redeeming Love e-Loans, Inc. did not act with malice – when it obtained Mr. Jackson’s authorization to access his financial documents and bank records.
50 Cent, a successful rapper, actor, and business mogul, sued his former lover. The lawsuit alleged that she abused and defrauded him. The suit alleged that “Ms. Joy perpetrated a criminal fraud” upon 50 Cent. In the suit, she was alleged to have “sabotaged his professional work and careers” and to have mis-viewed the 50 Cent – she had been unable to maintain a high-profile romantic relationship of her own because she is “simply not capable of having a committed and monogamous relationship.” She knew that 50 Cent would not discover the truth if sex with her was the sole purpose of the relationship, it was alleged.
