In addition, Pepsi is introducing two limited-edition flavors in what the brand says will “punch up the quintessential American BBQ”: Pepsi Lime and Pepsi Peach.
Both flavors will be available to purchase soon nationwide and will come in both 12 ounce cans and 20 ounce bottles. You can find where to purchase them locally through Pepsi’s product locator.
The news of Pepsi Lime and Pepsi Peach come after Dr Pepper’s announcement that Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut and Dr Pepper Creamy Coconut Zero Sugar will be available beginning May 1 at retailers nationwide through the end of July.
Background
PepsiCo, Inc. is a global food and beverage company. It was first established as the Pepsi-Cola Company in 1898 by a North Carolina pharmacist, Caleb Bradham. Pepsi adopted its name in 1965 when the Pepsi-Cola Company merged with Frito-Lay, Inc. The company continued to grow and in 1998 it acquired Tropicana and in 2001 it merged with Quaker Oats bringing Gatorade into the Pepsi product line. Today, the company has sales of more than $29 billion, making it the 2nd largest food and beverage business in the world.
Pepsi has many recognizable products including its flagship carbonated soft drink, Pepsi. Another is Sierra Mist which is a lemon-lime soft drink. PepsiCo decided to enhance the popularity and sales of Sierra Mist by launching new flavored varieties of the drink. To do this, they requested new products from its Loyalist College brand consultancy class. Two of the varieties, peach and lime, were chosen to be new flavors of Sierra Mist, and one of the recommendations was later developed into the now popular drinks that we are going to compare in this article.

Pepsi Lime vs Pepsi Peach: A Limited-Edition Soda Showdown
I have tried the Pepsi Lime soda myself and I too felt that the smell of the soda gave me the anticipation of a sweet, refreshing, crisp, lemon-lime taste. What I got was a soda more like regular Pepsi, but with a hint of Sprite. I found that the hints of lime were there, which did add a little bit of pep to original Pepsi. However, the taste was a little too syrupy, trying to mask the taste of original Pepsi and the carbonation seemed a bit lacking.
The Pepsi Lime and Pepsi Peach limited-edition sodas are drinks that were only available for a certain amount of time and have recently made a comeback. The two sodas have had the opportunity to be sold around the same time, so two friends or family members can compare/contrast.
The soda that I have found to be most intriguing to me that I would like to compare/contrast is the Pepsi Lime soda. I found a very interesting blog interpreting the taste of this particular soda. Most blogs interpret Pepsi Lime as a soda that has a lot of potential, but does not meet it. For example, one interpretation of the soda was, “it smells great, but the taste leaves you very disappointed. The soda has a nice lemon-lime smell, which such a smell is usually associated with a crisp, sweet taste. However, upon sipping the soda, the taste is quite dull and even bland.”
