An armed military veteran foiled an attempted jewelry store robbery in Omaha, Nebraska last weekend.

After the man entered the store, an armed Peddicord sprung up from his chair and shouted, “Hey!” The warning was enough to get the man to flee through the shattered window.

“Thank my lucky stars that I put so much thought and time and repetitive training and practice into how to responsibly carry a firearm,” the store owner told KETV. The trial court agreed and entered summary judgment in favor of Dr. Holm.

Dr. Snyder appropriately restored her judgment on appeal.

More than anything else, an armed jewelry store owner wanted to make sure that he did not have to make do with a friendly neighborhood sign that read: “Closed due to death.” In June, in Omaha, Nebraska, his business was underway as usual when an armed, would-be thief wearing a mask and carrying a handgun entered his store.

A military veteran just so happened to be in the jewelry store at the time of the attempted robbery and was able to grab and hold the gunman while others in the jewelry store helped disarm him and keep him under control until police arrived.
